Sailing race in Kazan devoted to the problems of addicted people

On August 8, people who had struggled with addictions will take part in the competitions on cruising yachts for the first time in Russia.

(KZN.RU, August 7). Tomorrow in Kazan there will be a sailing race for the Cup of the Fund for Resocialization of the RT. For the first time in Russia, people who have completed a full cycle of medical and rehabilitation care and had struggled with addictions will take part in sports competitions on cruising yachts in the water area of the Volga River.

As in the struggle against addiction, it is especially important in sailing that each participant prepared for teamwork and be ready to achieve the goal. In addition, people with addictions can be much easier to get rid of them by replacing the addictions with sports, said the organizers.

In addition, a roundtable will be held dedicated to the development of the regional and national system of resocialization and labor reintegration of people suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction. Experts in the field of narcology, psychiatry, and psychology, representatives of business and executive power from Tatarstan, Astrakhan, Penza, and Yaroslavl regions, the Republic of Mari El will take part in the discussions.

During the roundtable, experts will discuss current methods of treatment and rehabilitation, labor integration of drug addicts, including the state and scientific approach of rehabilitation services to drug addicts in Russia, the employment of a target group of former drug users, including hiring issues.

The opening of the sailing regatta is at 11 am.
