The circus backstage, clowns, and an amazing show: Ilsur Metshin made a dream of a teenager from Kazan come true

<p> The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin fulfilled the dream of a young citizen of Kazan. Timur, diagnosed with cerebral palsy, dreams of becoming an artist and wanted to get behind the scenes of a circus. The day before, he visited a rehearsal of artists, talked with clowns, stroked horses and watched a circus performance for the first time. His dream was fulfilled at the traditional charity action «The New Year Tree of Wishes». This year, a festive tree with children's letters was installed at the Kazan City Hall. Ilsur Metshin took three postcards from the tree, among which was a letter from Timur. </p> <p> Timur Pertsev was diagnosed with cerebral palsy from birth due to spinal cord damage sustained during delivery. For a long time, the boy was completely unable to move. Thanks to his mother's determination, Timur took his first steps last year. The family actively participates in cultural activities. </p> <p> The Mayor invited Timur and his family – his mother and younger brother – to the Kazan Circus. For Timur, this was the first visit and he was very happy and full of joy. </p> <p> «He always liked circus animals and artists. As he says, «there is a lot of life here», which he lacks. Before, he only saw life through the TV screen. He wants to feel this energy», – Timur's mother shared. </p> <p> The New Year adventure began with a behind-the-scenes tour. Timur visited a warehouse filled with stage costumes and large props used by gymnasts for their tricks. After spending time with the animals, the family looked round the rehearsal ring, where strongmen were honing their acts. Next, professional makeup artists completely transformed Timur, turning him into a magic astrologer. </p> <p> Then, the family proceeded to the highlight of the tour – meeting the clowns. The colorful performers welcomed Timur with broad grins and amusing skits. They wished him new achievements and invited to the circus performance. </p>
