Kazan Hosts International Online Exchange on Technological Education

Students and teachers from Kazan and Guangzhou discussed the integration of artificial intelligence into school engineering programmes

On 19 December 2025, Multidisciplinary Lyceum 187 of Kazan served as the venue for an international online exchange bringing together schools from Russia and China. The meeting was dedicated to issues of technological education and the development of partnership relations between sister schools.

Within the framework of the discussion entitled “The Future Is Already Here: Integration and Innovation in Engineering Education and Project-Based Learning with the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Schools of China and Russia”, participants discussed the renewal of curricula, the introduction of project-based learning, and prospects for intercultural interaction among students.

The event was attended by representatives of the management team, teachers and students of engineering classes from Multidisciplinary Lyceum 187 RHYTHM of Kazan, teachers from Wangxu Secondary School of Guangzhou, as well as representatives of the Integration XXI Century International School of Moscow.

Participants presented their educational practices, shared experience in developing systems of engineering courses, and discussed prospects for the implementation of joint projects. Priority areas included the development of web apps based on artificial intelligence platforms and the creation of innovative hardware solutions using AI technologies.

Special attention was paid to issues related to resource support for educational programmes, as well as existing challenges and possible ways to address them. Following the meeting, the parties outlined further steps aimed at developing cooperation and introducing best educational practices in schools of Russia and China.

The event became another stage of an initiative implemented since 2024, when, within the framework of the International Forum “ROSTKI: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”, a memorandum on strengthening relations was signed between Lyceum 187 of Kazan and Wangxu Secondary School of Guangzhou.

In October 2025, the partnership received practical development when a delegation from Kazan visited China. As a result, the parties agreed to expand interaction and to organise joint activities, including an online format.

The cooperation will continue with the presentation of completed project solutions by students of the sister schools, scheduled for April 2026. Organisers note that such formats of cooperation contribute to the formation of a unified educational space and create conditions for preparing students to meet the technological challenges of the future.
