Necessary conditions for the development of small and medium-sized businesses are being created in Kazan. More than 84 thousand small and medium-sized businesses, including small and micro enterprises, individual entrepreneurs, carry out their activities in the capital of Tatarstan.
Every year, the share of small and medium-sized businesses in the city's economy is growing. The share of small and medium-sized businesses in the gross territorial product of Kazan reached 42,2%.
Programs aiming at supporting entrepreneurs are implemented in the capital of Tatarstan – “Rent free period”, which is implemented for property support of entrepreneurs.
In 2019, Tatarstan became one of the four pilot regions where a special tax regime “Tax on professional income” is being applied. In Kazan, for the first time in Russia, a special municipal program to support the self-employed people is being developed. Presently, 100 thousand people are registered as self-employed in the capital of Tatarstan.
